4 Spring-Cleaning Tips That Will Help Your Smile

posted in: Uncategorized | 0

As you get ready to deeply clean your home, our Midwest Family Dentistry team encourages you to also get ready to clean your smile. After you dust, mop, and vacuum, please do the following things so you can improve your oral health and enhance the beauty of your smile this spring:

Replace old or worn toothbrushes

If you have used your toothbrush for 3-4 months or if its bristles are worn down, it’s time to replace it. It’s best to have a toothbrush that is clean and tough so you can properly clean and care for your chompers each day. The longer you have your toothbrush, the less effective it will be and the more bacteria and germs it will harbor. So, please replace your toothbrush if necessary!

Check the expiration date on your mouthwash

If your mouthwash is expired, it’s no longer useful. This is why we recommend checking the expiration date on your rinse while you deeply clean your home. If you have expired mouthwash, it’s best to get a new rinse as soon as possible so your pearly whites can be effectively cleaned each day.

Replenish your floss supply

If you floss your smile properly, you probably use around 18 inches of floss each day, which can really add up! Eventually, you may run out of the product, which is why we recommend using this time to stock up on your floss supply. That way you won’t need to worry about missing a day of flossing.

Schedule your next dental cleaning appointment

It’s strongly recommended to have your smile professionally cleaned every six months. So, if you’re due for a dental cleaning or if you have experienced a problem in your chompers, please call our office and schedule an appointment. This will help you have the strong and healthy smile you deserve.

If you add these four things to your spring-cleaning checklist, you will complete the tasks that will help you have the clean and healthy smile you deserve!
